Privacy Policy for FullShot
Last updated: 2026-08-14
This Privacy Policy explains how the FullShot Chrome extension handles data.
Summary
- FullShot does not operate a server and does not upload your screenshots to any external service.
- Captured image data is processed locally in your browser.
- Data is stored only in Chrome extension storage to complete capture/edit/export features.
Data We Process
FullShot may process the following data when you use the extension:
- Current tab URL and page title (for file naming and optional PDF stamp text)
- Captured screenshot image data (PNG data URLs)
- Capture metadata (capture time, viewport size, page dimensions, DPR)
- User settings (JPG quality, output directory preference, save dialog preference, PDF options)
Why We Process It
We process data only to provide extension features:
- Capture visible area or full page
- Stitch and edit captured images
- Export PNG/JPG/PDF files
- Copy image to clipboard
- Remember user preferences
Storage and Retention
- Screenshot payloads are temporarily saved in chrome.storage.local during workflow.
- When a new capture is saved, older capture chunks are removed by cleanup logic.
- Preferences are saved in chrome.storage.sync so they can persist across browser sessions.
Data Sharing
- FullShot does not sell personal data.
- FullShot does not send screenshot content to external servers.
- Data may only be passed to Chrome APIs required for requested actions (for example, downloads and clipboard operations initiated by the user).
Permissions
FullShot requests these permissions for the stated purposes:
- activeTab: capture and interact with the currently active tab
- scripting: run page scripts required for full-page capture flow
- downloads: save exported images/PDF files
- storage / unlimitedStorage: store temporary capture chunks and extension settings
Your Choices
- You can remove extension data from the browser extension settings at any time.
- You can uninstall the extension at any time.
- During full-page capture, you can press Esc to cancel the capture process.
Security
FullShot is designed to keep processing local to your browser. However, no software can guarantee absolute security.
